Biofield Tuning in San Jose
Energy work with tuning forks, following the approach developed by Eileen Day McKusick.
Biofield Tuning uses sound and vibration to work with what the method describes as the human biofield—the energetic field within and around the body.
At Lymph Me Up Studio, I offer individual sessions with the intention of addressing energetic patterns associated with tension, emotional responses, and a sense of feeling stuck. The approach brings together tuning fork work, attention to the body, and conversation when it is relevant to your experience.

Understanding the Biofield
In McKusick’s model, the body and its surrounding field form an interconnected energetic system. She proposes that stressful experiences and habitual emotional responses can leave patterns of tension or “dissonance” within this field.
Biofield Tuning approaches these patterns through sound. Its intention is to help energy associated with old patterns become available for a greater sense of balance, presence, and vitality.
This energetic model guides the practice. Its proposed mechanisms, including the idea that memories are stored in the surrounding field, have not been scientifically established.
What Does “Tuning” Involve?
I activate a tuning fork and move it through the space around your body, listening for changes in its tone and resonance. Within the Biofield Tuning approach, these changes help guide where to focus the work.
I may spend more time in one area, repeatedly sounding the fork and listening as the session develops. McKusick describes this process as introducing a consistent vibration with the intention of bringing greater coherence to the field.
In this context, coherence means the intended movement toward a more harmonious, integrated energetic state.
With your permission, weighted tuning forks may also be placed on the body, allowing you to feel their vibration directly.
Emotional Patterns and the Body
Emotional themes can become part of a session. You might notice a familiar feeling, a physical response, or a connection to something happening in your life.
When it feels useful, we can explore these connections together. Your own understanding of your experience remains central; an interpretation of the field is not proof of a particular event or emotion.
You choose how much to share. There is no need to search for a memory or produce an emotional release for the session to continue.
What to Expect
Your appointment begins with a conversation about what brings you in, relevant health history, and any sensitivity to sound or vibration.
You remain fully clothed and rest on a treatment table while I work with the tuning forks. We check in throughout, and you can ask for an adjustment or pause at any time.
At the end, we discuss your experience and any next steps. There is no fixed number of sessions required for everyone. Further appointments depend on your goals, preferences, and response.
